Guilty pleasures

Wow it feels like I've been away for ages! Well it's true because i have been :-p due to sickness & brain fog & holiday family festivities! Time always flies when the holiday season goes in full effect for our household! However, sometimes it's nice to get away from the same routine & take a little break from the blog world! So today I am going to blog about my so called "Guilty pleasures" and winter favorites that I can't live without!!! Alright, I'm being a little bit dramatic LOL but I do need it in my life!! If you don't know what a "guilty pleasure" is, here's a definition according to Wikipedia, "a guilty pleasure is something, such as a movie, a television program or a piece of music, that one enjoys despite feeling that it is not generally held in high regard. Fashion, video games, music, theater, television series, films, food and fetishes can be examples of guilty pleasures."

Everyone has guilty pleasures, if you pretend that you do not have one then you're lying! :-) Today I am revealing my top guilty pleasure - QVC (for those of you that do not know what QVC is, you've been living in a cave, j/k) It's an awesome televised home -shopping/ online -shopping network show! I'm totally addicted to QVC and every time I watch it they introduce me to great beauty products such as Josie Maran's Argan oil- my other "not so guilty pleasure!!" It's more like my "must have" in my beauty bag! New York Times called it liquid gold and they are so on point! I do feel guilty watching QVC because then I begin to order everything (ok not everything) that I want to try and then I fall in love with the products and can't get enough of it! So I am guilty! Also, as make up artist I am always trying to stay on top of the make up trends and I am all about finding products that are natural and pure for our skin!

Argan oil is amazing and it's a must have for this winter season. Especially for my dry, crusty & cracked skin! My skin tends to bleed & crack really bad in the winter but it has not this winter season because of discovering argon oil a couple of years ago. Argan Oil is first cold pressed and full of powerful nutrients that nourish, hydrate and protect your skin. I would totally recommend this product to people who want to hydrate and treat their dry skin during the winter season. You can also use it for your hair, cuticles and dry elbows and knees :-) I have been using Argan Oil for a couple of years now and it has transformed my dry, crusty hands during winter season but maintaining hydration in the spring, summer & fall. When I use the whipped Argan Oil body butter OMG my skin on my body transformed into soft milky smooth skin! At least, that's what my hubs tell me! That is my all time favorite product & best seller from Josie Maran!

I ordered 3 products from Josie Maran on QVC:
(you can click on the links to shop on QVC!)
1. Decadent Bliss Argan Oil and Honey Hydration Collection (TSV - Today Special Value- meaning I purchased the collection for a lower price for a limited period of time.) Everything in this collection is multitasking and infused with Argan oil. I've used 2 out of the 4 products in this collection so I'm really excited to try out the Divine Drip Honey Butter Balm & Argan Cleansing Oil for Body!!
Great TSV :-)

I can't wait to try these 2 products!

2. Argan Oil Pure Complexion Collection - Again I've used 2 out the 4 products in this collection. I am interested in trying the cleansing oil because it's suppose melt away makeup and dirt off my face! I've been wanting to try out Josie's Argan matchmaker serum foundation for a long time now so I'm happy that I finally got it and will use it very soon! The chameleon pigments go on white and instantly adjusts to match your skin tone. Also, it's suppose to be lightweight & buildable on coverage.
I love Josie's Packaging!

I'm anxious to try out this new foundation & see if it really color corrects to my skin tone! Also, this is my first time trying the Argon cleanser lets see if washes my make up off

3. Argan Oil Color Stick Library 9 piece collection- I have been a major fan of Josie's color sticks for lips & cheeks! I am so happy she came out with a library collection! When I saw this I just had to try all the colors! I didn't even care what the colors were but i just trusted that Josie's Argan infused color sticks were healthy for my lips & cheeks! If I put a product on my lip, I need it to be healthy and natural because I can swallow it and if it's going through my body, the best thing I can do for myself is to choose something that is natural like Argan oil.

All of these colors are so beautiful!! Love, love, Love!!!

My summer beauty fave~ TARTE eyeshadow palette

If you know me, I'm a big fan of Tarte Cosmetics! Why?... because overall I love this brand and their philosophy w/ providing a healthy eco-chic beauty that's great for my skin! I've become a "tartelette" for quite some time now!!! I get very excited telling people about products that i truly love & believe in! It takes me back to those late nights of watching QVC and remembering the moment I was introduced to this awesome line of cosmetics...and then i became hooked lol so thanks QVC!  :-p

Anyways, if I am wearing make up everyday or most of my days, I would like to wear make up that is healthy & protecting my skin at the same time! As a make up artist, I want to use healthy high performance products on my clients (not one full of bad chemicals) so that they can benefit from using a higher quality cosmetic that is affordable & makes them look and feel great! A few more reasons why i love Tarte is because their products are formulated without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate, triclosan & gluten. Also every time i wear Tarte it always lasts all day for me and that's always a big plus!

I am going to blog about one of my favorite eyeshadow palette that I've been wearing a lot this summer! It's called Rainforest after dark colored clay eye & cheek palette by TARTE
I love this palette b/c it comes w/ 6 beautiful eyeshadow colors in the plum hues & brown/ neutral hues: bare to explore (pink beige), make a mauve (plum mauve), plum away w/ me (dark plum), up to no gold (gold), tan-gled up in you (tan) & don't turn a-brown (dark brown); Cheeks - unleashed (nude rose blush); Highlighter- chamagne; Bronzer- Park Ave Princess

This palette was inspired by the deep orchid hues of the rainforest! They infused the palette w/ colored clay which naturally color corrects and helps control oils for longer wear. Indeed it does help w/ long lasting eyeshadow! These colored clay ingredients originate from the mountainous regions of Brazil. The Tarte team traveled far & beyond to find a next generation ingredients to help address skin & complexion concerns. Great job Tarte! I love how the colored clay works to not settle into the crease of my eyelids. The eyeshadow goes on smooth and is very well pigmented! The colors are so rich & there's a beautiful amount of shimmers on the dark plum & dark brown colors that glistens when the sun hits your eyeshadow. I absolutely love the way the blush feels when i sweep it on the apple of my cheeks! It's very soft & subtle rose blush color that blends in great to give me a natural rosy"blush" look! I have to give "unleashed" blush a 10 star! The Highlighter in Champagne gives you that soft radiant look above your cheekbones! Just enough to make someone notice the highlights on your face! :-) The bronzer has always been one of my favorite especially that classic color Park ave Princess! It's the perfect bronzer that will contour your face w/o any harsh "bronzed" look! It always gives me the perfect sun kissed look! Here are some photos i took using this beautiful & sophisticated palette! Forever a "tartelette" <3

Full face of the Rainforest after dark colored clay eye & cheek palette

I used the Plum hues on my eyes: lids-make a muave, crease- plum away w/ me & brow bone- bare to explore ...don't you just love these names!!! so awesome!

cheeks- unleashed blush

loving that champagne & park ave princess great combo of highlighter & contour in this palette!

I pretty much used everything from Tarte on my look!
If you want to get my look from this palette, you can click on the link below to shop at Tarte! Happy shopping!

showers of blessing!

This past weekend we celebrated my big brother, Soup & sis in law, Trish's babyshower! This is their 1st baby and it's a boy!!! I am so excited to have a nephew on the way and he will make his entrance sometimes this fall! It's been a long time since we had a nephew on our side of the family because there's been a string of girls...basically all granddaughters + 1 grandson (who is 23 years old now)!! Also, it didn't help that my brother was the only boy in our siblings!!! Yay to Girl power on the Choup side  :-) However, my brother's son will be the first 3rd generation "Choup" to pass down the family name!!! Such a wonderful blessing from God to have this new addition to our big family!!!

It was wonderful to see family & friends traveling near and far to come celebrate this little bundle of joy, baby Choup! It was filled w/ so much love, laughter, fun & food!!! So thankful for those that came out to celebrate w/ our family and making it extra special for Soup & Trish! It makes me rejoice in such happiness to see that my brother & Trish is surrounded by amazing family & friends that are always there for them through these important milestones in life! We have to embrace each moment given to us because this life is so precious and can be so short if we take it for granted! I love celebrating life! It brings happy tears to my eyes to see my brother enter fatherhood soon! I know he will be the best father he can be to his son b/c he just has so much LOVE to give! He's an amazing Uncle to my daughters and i couldn't ask for anything more! I can't wait to hear what names my brother & Trish came up with! Most of all, i can't wait to meet my nephew so i can spoil him w/ love, hugs & kisses!!! Here are some pics from the baby shower "Elephant" themed party for the baby boy! There are so many pics to share but here are some of my fave highlights!

I love ordering the Picture cakes made by Giants! The Photos were taken by Me :-) They always do an amazing job on the cakes & it taste amazing! White cake w/ strawberry filling & whipped topping!

There goes Soup's snowball tower! Kelly did an AMAZING job w/ the cupcakes & chocolate dipped pretzels!!

Parents to be!!! Congrats Trish & Soup! love you so much!

Why is my brother cracking up so much???....

hahaha that's why!!! what a funny book huh...is that how we parents feel LOL..."Go the F*** to Sleep" by Adam Mansbach

so many gifts!!! :-)

Trish & I went to Homegoods about a month ago and she saw this industrial lookin' organizer, she was thinking about getting it for baby's nursery. However, she ended up not getting it that day so we left home! A couple of weeks later i went back to Homegoods praying it would still be there and thank goodness it was!

Trish & her mom

Trish & our Momma Choup!

Beautiful mommas!!!

We're giving Mommy to be a Nop Sandwich! hehe!!

Congrats to my beautiful sis in law! You're glowing so much during pregnancy! Motherhood is so powerful and I know you're going to be a great mom w/ great influence to this lil human being! There's just something so magical that happens when you look into your baby's eyes & hold him for the first time! I can't wait for you to experience that precious moment! Until then, I pray that you will have a smooth pregnancy journey & embrace every moment in this pregnancy b/c time just flies when you hit the third trimester! Love you!!!

I wanted to share a few maternity photos that i took of Trish & Soup at Founders hall/ Milton Hershey. Just an FYI i am not a professional photographer!!! That's why i felt really honored when they asked me to take their photos for them! I did my best to capture precious moments for them that will last forever! Pictures do tell a wonderful story! These moments were priceless and I'm so happy i was able to capture these shots for my brother & sis in law!! What a beautiful couple & i love that baby bump of Trish's!!!

All these pics were taken w/ my dSLR Nikon D60 & i did not photoshop any of these pictures. I used a lot of manual shooting & depended mostly on lighting! In the world of Photography & make up, lighting & angles are so important :-) we shot in the evening & the sun was just perfect that day! Enjoy the pics!

Porto & Aveiro tour

Wow i've been away for too long! I am past due for a new blog post! Forgive b/c I am still in vacation mode :-) Ever since we got back from Portugal it's been super busy w/ family events & our family from Florida visited us all last week so we hosted them full of activities! Whenever i host family i try not to consume myself w/ being on technology too much! Spending quality time is very precious to me since i don't get to see them as much! So i'm finally back to my routine & going to start blogging again consistently!

Well this Blog entry is going to be Part 2 of our portugal trip! We did so much in 9 days that it's hard to crunch everything in on one blog! I'm hoping to get it all blogged in a couple more blog post and be done w/ my travel adventures of our 10 year anniversary trip! Then onto some beauty blogs!!! :-)

We explored the city of Porto in one full day along w/ doing the Aveiro tour w/ our lovely tour guide, Claudia via "Living tours" of Portugal. We walked the city of Costa Nova a town full of colorful striped Palheiros which are traditional homes built in the coastal region of Portugal to house the fisherman. Then we visited the city of Aveiro which is considered the little "Venice of Portugal" :-) We did a boat tour on the Moliceiros & learned that this City is known for it's salt production. After the tours we did our own walking tour of the historic district of Porto visiting castles, cathedrals, train station, the famous Library JK Rowling got her inspiration for Harry Potter, climbed the Clerigos tower, enjoyed the popular sandwich "Francesinha" ...we did so much walking that we had to eat some authentic hearty portuguese food & end the night w/ desserts!!!
